We are currently recruiting an Adminstration Officer
Credit Action is a charity working in the ever changing and hugely topical field of personal finance and debt. To enable us to ensure our team is well supported on a wide variety of projects and that the first point of contact with the charity presents a helpful and professional impression we require an Administration Officer.
The Administration Officer reports to the Director and the job description is included below.
This is a varied role dealing with a number of key administrative duties including:
1. General administration
- Gate-keeping telephone calls, emails and correspondence and handling them appropriately.
- Assisting in the management of Director’s schedule and handling of correspondence.
- Dealing with orders for Credit Action publications.
- Making arrangements for and co-ordinating events and meetings. This may include the taking of minutes.
- Managing petty cash, office supplies of stationery and office equipment to ensure there are adequate provisions at all times, with budget responsibility.
- Being responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate and efficient administrative systems.
2. Coordinating training courses
- Being the first point of contact for training queries and coordinating a number of Credit Action’s training courses; includes booking venues and sending out joining instructions to delegates.
- Keeping a record of courses delivered and making sure invoices have been paid.
- Capturing feedback from evaluation forms by inputting data into MS Excel and MS Access databases.
- Making amendments to training materials using MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Producing training handouts, and other training resources.
3. Assisting the team
- Assisting a busy and proactive team on various projects.
- Liaising and supporting individual project managers, particularly the Education Officer, and assisting with correspondence, including mail merges, maintaining databases and coordinating with the specific project’s external participants.
4. Participating in the corporate life of Credit Action
- Acting as an ambassador at events to raise the profile of Credit Action
- Attending staff training activities and regular team meetings.
- There may be from time to time a need to attend external training and events.
Who should apply?
The successful applicant will have the following skills:
- A good telephone manner, with confidence to provide callers with information on a wide range of subjects once briefed.
- Previous experience of admin support within a team environment is highly desirable.
- Applicants should be fully computer literate with thorough experience of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential.
- Organised, with an ability to prioritise.

Particulars of employment
The position will be based at Lynton House, Tavistock Square, WC1H 9LT and is a full-time position.
Normal working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm though there is some flexibility as some people choose to work slightly earlier or later.
The level of remuneration for the position is £15,000 - £18,000p.a. depending upon experience, with an additional 10% employer pension payment (this does not have to be matched), upon successful completion of the probationary period, amounting to a total package of £16,500 - £19,800p.a.
Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum not including Bank Holidays.
